Escamotage

Updated: Aug 15, 2018

It's an Italian word, if you hadn't guessed. It's straight translation is ploy, but it was described to me by my directors as the things we do to get what we want/need in life. This was my first short directed by non-student directors, with a producer, and at a legitimate production company. It was my first look into a professional set, and it very much provided me with some insight of what I want in life, and what "ploys" I need to get there. Without giving any detail, because honestly I don't know how much I am allowed to say or show, let me just say that this was the first film experience I had where my training at NYU actually saved my sanity. It also was the first role where I took ownership of the scenes and acting. It was the best transitional acting experience I could have asked for, filled with scary challenges but a crew of incredibly encouraging people. Here's to more.
